Vintage Finnish 14k Gold and Pearl Ring by Björn Weckström for Lapponia
This enigmatic modernist ring by Björn Weckström for Lapponia features two serene pearls of differing sizes balanced upon an organic foundation of luminous 14k gold. The band has a compelling texture like roughly-hewn stone, while the surface behind the pearls is ringed as if lapped away by the sea. The shoulders are split and layered asymmetrically before transitioning to a broad low plain band around the back of the ring. Weckström’s pieces, with the organic shapes and brutalist textures, are instantly recognizable, and this is a particularly delightful one!
