Vintage Indian 22k Gold Muskmelon Pendant

Similar to the Indian starfruit earring drops, this piece is reminiscent of another fruit! With its shallow grooves and more spheroid shape, this form is derived from the colorful muskmelon. It too would have been seen strung upon necklaces and bracelets, but is here realized as a pendant. The buoyant shape is suspended from a broad bale, making it suitable for a wide variety of chains. This piece has a wonderfully rustic surface which lends it a very organic and time-worn quality.
