Vintage Modernist Pyrite and 14k Gold Ring by Björn Weckström for Lapponia
This exemplary Lapponia 14k gold pyrite ring exhibits the signature sculpturesque design from the famous Finnish jewelry designer, Björn Weckström. Inspired by the shape and matte surface of gold nuggets, Weckström created the Montezuma ring showcasing a rough and shimmering slab of pyrite seamlessly inlaid in a textured landscape of warm matte gold. The ring is weighty, perfectly balanced, and simply feels good on the hand. Bjorn is perhaps most famous for the Planetoid Valleys necklace that Princess Leia wore in the 1977 Star Wars film and the Petrified Lake ring that Yoko Ono wore during the filming of the Dick Cavett Show in 1975.
