Antique Early 18th Century Georgian Dutch Cut Rose Cut Diamond 18k Gold and Sterling Silver Trilogy Ring

Sale price$0.00

A prominent Dutch rose cut diamond rises up from the center of this atmospheric early 18th century Georgian ring. The expansive triangular facets illuminate the high-profile gem with surprising force, yet they also act as windows to simultaneously allow a look into its foggy depths. Two more rose cut diamonds of varying sizes charmingly flank the central diamond; one has an almost heart-shaped silhouette! The idiosyncratic nature of each hand-hewn rose cut diamond contributes immensely to the magnetism of this historical treasure. The three silver domes securing the diamonds originally bore adornments that have been almost totally worn away over the centuries, somehow giving it a contemporary appeal. The pierced shoulders display softened flourishes which all but disappear as the band tapers, leaving only small divots at the edges to imply the former design. Typical to pieces of this era, the underside of the ring is wonderfully sculpted, with the central backing revealing radiant fluting.
