Antique Victorian French Foil Backed Rose Cut Diamond 18k Rose Gold Five Stone Ring

Lauded as the "most romantic diamond cut," antique rose cut diamond offer tender flashes of light from their shallow depths. The foil backing behind the gems was once meant to reflect more light, yet with age it acquires a patina which adds a shadowy quality to the flat-backed diamonds. Little prongs tuck them neatly into their housing, with almost the slightest bezel curved around each diamond. The irregularity amidst the five diamonds is just spectacular, and all of this is mounted upon a wide square-edged band of rosey 18k gold.
