Antique Victorian 14k Gold Jelly Opal Ring

 

This antique 14k gold stick-pin conversion ring holds an astounding jelly opal that appears to have the aurora borealis suspended in its watery depths. The colors range from soft and misty to poignant and electric. The east-west orientation of the setting lends it a contemporary feel, as does the minimalist shank which was made entirely from  the converted pin.
