Antique Pre-Revolution American 22k Gold & 18k Gold Signet Ring

With phenomenally-spirited engravings telling of multiple lives lived and lost, this pre-Revolutionary War American signet ring has been softening around the edges for centuries. The band tests as 22k gold and seems to have been a wedding band inscribed with the name “M. Williams” and the date of death “12 August 1760” at age 54. These initials and date of death match with those of Mary Wiliams, who was born in Virginia and died in North Carolina. The face of the ring was added later and tests as 18k gold. It bears the inscription “LW” and the date of death “March 19th 1797” age 67. This piece is super wearable and has a magnificent presence that speaks to its age and history.
