Antique French 14k Gold Rose Cut Diamond Cluster Ring
Rose cut diamonds are said to be "the most romantic" type, as their broad faceting sends off soft flashes in low lighting, such as candlelight. Here in this antique French 14k gold ring, a veritable collection of rose cut diamonds have been arranged into a cluster which balances atop the finger like a cupcake. The foil backing behind the handcut gems has darkened over the centuries, adding a peppery fog to contrast their mellow light. The shoulders are speckled with tiny rose cuts atop sculptural organic shapes, which elongate as they curve down along the shank.
